At 5:48 p.m., VDOT spokeswoman Dawn Eischen said the accident scene had been cleared and that motorists could expect residual delays on eastbound Interstate 64 and southbound Interstate 95.

Two traffic accidents involving a total of six vehicles on eastbound Interstate 64 on the Shockoe Valley Bridge just east of downtown snarled Richmond’s rush hour this evening.
Traffic was restricted to one lane on the bridge and the flow of vehicles was backed up on I-64 and about 5 miles on southbound I-95 where the two interstate routes share the highway, said Virginia Department of Transportation spokeswoman Dawn Eischen.
Further details about the crashes were not immediately available.
