A man was shot and killed Sunday night in the 1300 block of St. John Street in the Gilpin Court public-housing project, Richmond police said.
Police received a call of shots fired at 8:02 p.m., and officers found Antwon D. Freeman, 19, of the 1900 block of Whitcomb Street in Richmond, lying between buildings, Richmond police Capt. Yvonne Crowder said.
Freeman, who had a gunshot wound, was declared dead at the scene.
"Officers are hoping someone who lives in the area or was in the area can give a good suspect description or maybe a vehicle description or information on the incident that would assist detectives," police spokesman James Mercante said.
