A Richmond man was arrested today and charged in a stabbing that left his father hospitalized with numerous injuries.

Richmond police Capt. Michael Zohab said the victim of the 12:25 a.m. assault was taken to VCU Medical Center for treatment of stab wounds to both hands and his back.

The man, whose identity was not released, remained hospitalized today with injuries that are not life-threatening, and he is expected to make a full recovery, police spokeswoman Dionne Waugh said.

The man's son, Jayvon D. Baskerville, 20, was being held today on a charge of aggravated malicious wounding.

Zohab said the stabbing occurred at the apartment the two men shared in the 4300 block of Chamberlayne Avenue.

Police were continuing to investigate.
