»  Comments | Post a Comment

A vigil will be held tonight in memory of Antwon D. Freeman, 19, who was fatally shot Sunday night in the Gilpin Court public housing complex in North Richmond.

Alicia Rasin, founder of Citizens Against Crime and a spokeswoman for Freeman's family, said the vigil will be held at 6 p.m. in the 1900 block of Whitcomb Street, near the victim's home.

Authorities have charged a man and woman with conspiracy to commit murder in the case. The suspects are Brandon D. Cooper, 26, of the 2100 block of Deforrest Street in Richmond, and Jamilah A. Crews, 25, of the 1600 block of Henrico Arms Place in Henrico County.

Freeman was found shot to death Sunday when officers were called at 8:02 p.m. to a location outside an apartment building in the 1300 block of St. John Street.
