Essex Bank holding company OKs dividend
The board of directors of Community Bankers Trust Corp., the holding company for Essex Bank, has approved the February payment of its regular quarterly cash dividend for preferred stock issued to the U.S. Treasury in connection with the bank's participation in the government's Troubled Asset Relief Program.
The payment is contingent on the approval of federal and state regulators. The bank, based in western Henrico County, has been under written agreement with regulators since April to improve its financial condition.
The required approval is contingent on the issuance and review of a final regulatory report from a recently concluded full-scope safety and soundness examination.
