A man suffered life-threatening injuries Monday night after being dragged underneath a vehicle for about a city block by a hit-and-run driver in South Richmond, police said.
Richmond police Capt. Michael Zohab said the victim, 21, was taken to VCU Medical Center with “very life-threatening injuries.”
Police spokesman Gene Lepley today said detectives are following up on a number of good leads in the case but are still interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen the crime.
Anyone with information can call Richmond police at (804) 780-5100 or Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000.
The man, who was found in the street about 8:05 p.m., was struck by an unknown vehicle near Kimrod Road and Orcutt Lane and dragged to Orcutt and Hull Street Road, Zohab said. Police found drag marks that confirmed the distance he had traveled.
No vehicle description was released today.
Lepley said the victim, whose identity was not released, remained in critical condition today.
