»  Comments | Post a Comment

An audit by the Virginia Department of Corrections found that the Richmond City Jail is fully compliant with Virginia Board of Corrections standards, Richmond Sheriff C.T. Woody Jr. announced Wednesday.

The audit was performed at the jail Feb. 1 and 2, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The report is to be submitted to the Board of Corrections with a recommendation that the facility be "unconditionally certified."

Larry Traylor, a DOC spokesman, said in an email that the board still must review and vote on certification.
