Dinwiddie County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 73-year-old man Saturday on child pornography charges.
Franklin Wayne Loftis, of the 13000 Block of Hawkins Road in Ford, was charged with of possession of child pornography and production of child pornography.
Investigators executed a search warrant on Loftis' residence and seized numerous images of child pornography, digital media and electronic equipment, the sheriff's office said.
Further investigation into the contents of the digital media and electronic equipment is underway and additional charges may be forthcoming, according to the sheriff's office.
Loftis is being held at the Dinwiddie County Jail without bond pending a preliminary hearing on April 3 in the Dinwiddie County General Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
