Henrico County police said a woman punched two officers on New Year's Eve after a routine traffic stop, and one of the officers used a Taser to subdue her.
Sonja Bundy, 41, of Henrico, was arrested and charged with assaulting the officers, attempting to elude police, driving without a license and failure to obey a highway sign, which was the reason for the original stop, police said. She was released on bond on Sunday.
Police stopped Bundy about 8:30 p.m. Saturday on Laburnum Avenue in eastern Henrico, near the Interstate 64 interchange. Police said she became belligerent, got back in her car and fled the scene. Police stopped her a second time, and she allegedly hit the officers.
