Chesterfield County police are looking for a man who tried to rob a BB&T bank branch today but was rebuffed by the teller he accosted.
Police said the man entered the bank at 5756 Hopkins Road about 12:45 p.m. and passed a note to a teller demanding money. The female teller, who was behind a bulletproof glass panel, turned and pretended to gather cash, but she stalled until the robber apparently grew anxious and fled, said Chesterfield police Lt. Randy Horowitz.
The suspect was described as white, 35-40 years old and about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a stocky build. He was wearing a blue shirt, a jacket with gray lining, jeans and a blue knit cap with sunglasses.
Police believe the man is the same person who robbed the same bank on Jan. 23.
