Gov. Bob McDonnell announced this morning that Honeywell will add 50 jobs in Chesterfield County through a $27.5 million investment in its Advanced Fibers and Composites operation.
Honeywell picked Virginia over North Carolina and South Carolina for the added work, the governor's office said. The division produces a lightweight fiber that is used in bullet-proof vests and other ballistic protection products.
The deal includes a $300,000 performance-based grant from the Virginia Investment Partnership program.
“We are so pleased when one of our long-standing existing businesses expands,” Dan Gecker, Chairman of the Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors, said in a statement.
