Richmond police have identified the victim of this morning's fatal shooting in the city's East End as Maurquan D. Brown, 19, of the 300 block of Airport Drive.
Police spokesman Gene Lepley said Brown was found shortly before daybreak outside an apartment building in the 1300 block of Little Page Street, near the Coalter Street intersection.
Police were called to the neighborhood at 6:35 a.m. for a report of shots fired in a breezeway outside a residence. Brown was pronounced dead at the scene, Lepley said.
Detectives canvassed the neighborhood and spoke with neighbors as part of their efforts to develop suspect information.
