Authorities have cleared a man arrested for a shooting death last month in South Richmond, ruling it a justifiable homicide.
Authorities today said they will move to dismiss a charge of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder that was filed against Robert J. Wilks, 19, of the 2700 block of Hanes Avenue in Richmond.
Wilks was arrested Jan. 24 for the shooting death four days earlier of Samuel L. Johnson, 38, of the 1800 block of Blair Street. Johnson was found shot to death at an apartment complex in the 600 block of Westover Hills Boulevard.
Authorities today said they have determined that Wilks was justified in shooting Johnson.
Wilks, jailed since his arrest, had been scheduled for a preliminary hearing Thursday in Richmond General District Court.
