Super Bowl: Snooze

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Although a game decided in the last minute sounds like an all-time thriller, viewers without an emotional stake in the proceedings may have rated the Giants-Patriots contest one of the most boring Super Bowls ever. New York fans will disagree.

While the action lacked the visible intensity associated with great defensive struggles, the two defenses deserve credit for keeping things close. The quarterbacks completed many passes, but the teams were not running up and down the field.

The Washington Redskins beat the Giants twice!

The ho-hum Super Bowl followed a thrilling World Series. Football may have passed baseball as the national pastime, but true patriots await the return of the diamond's giants. Spring training looms.
