ON THE MOVE BANKING, INVESTMENTS

Robert Y. Bennett has been appointed as senior vice president and client development officer for commercial and industrial banking at Paragon Commercial Bank. He brings 30 years of experience to the company, most recently serving as an executive at Regions Bank. He received his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his MBA from the University of Richmond.

CERTIFICATION
Brenda Wood has earned her Certified Distressed Property Expert designation from the Distressed Property Institute after completing training in short sales and foreclosure avoidance. CDPEs work with loss mitigators to reduce or eliminate foreclosures and steer clients through a short sale. She is with Re/Max Allegiance. W. Jerrold Samford has earned his Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design professional accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Certification Institute. He is an environmental compliance specialist with Troutman Sanders. He received his bachelor's degree in geology from William and Mary in 1977 and his master's in geological sciences from Virginia Tech in 1981. Kelly Cole has earned the Certified Manager of Communication Associations designation from the National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers. She is with the Community Group Inc. and represents the Twin Hickory Homeowners Association.

Rosemarie Barrett achieved Comprehensive Certified Housing Counselor status at the Virginia Association of Housing Conference. She is a housing counselor at Commonwealth Catholic Charities. She assists individuals needing debt-management support and financial assistance for housing, rent and utilities.

Eric D. Graetzer achieved Certified Housing Counselor status at the Virginia Association of Housing Conference. He is a debt-management counselor at Commonwealth Catholic Charities. He assists individuals needing debt-management support and financial assistance for housing, rent and utilities.

CONSTRUCTION
Jeffrey Broderick has joined EDC as business development manager. He previously was a senior development manager with Zaremba Group and had been with Developers Diversified Realty and KA Architecture. He is a registered architect in the state of Ohio.

CONSULTING
Michael Lind has joined FranNet of Richmond as a franchise consultant. He has 35 years of experience in manufacturing, client relations and information technology.

HEALTH SERVICES
David Jenkins has been named vice president of VHHA Services, a subsidiary of the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association that implements and operates shared-services programs for Virginia hospitals and other health-care organizations. He previously served as director of member services for four years. Carole Cohen Wallis has been named director of member services of VHHA Services, a subsidiary of the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association that implements and operates shared-services programs for Virginia hospitals and other health-care organizations. She has experience in worker's compensation, long-term care and brain-injury rehabilitation.

INSURANCE
Corey Reynolds has joined Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Services as an insurance agent in the Henrico County office. He earned a bachelor's degree in business management from Lynchburg College in 2005. He has worked in sales and customer service for the past four years. LAW

Andrew R. McRoberts has joined the local government practice at Sands Anderson Marks & Miller. He recently completed eight years as the county attorney in Goochland. His earlier had been county attorney in Culpeper and assistant county attorney in Arlington. He earned his undergraduate degree from William and Mary and his law degree from the University of Richmond's T.C. Williams School of Law. MEDIA

Media General Inc. has changed its finance management organization as part of the company's shift on July 1 to a corporate structure focused on five geographic markets from its current three-division structure of publishing, broadcast and interactive media. The changes are:

Ed Deichman has been named controller for regional markets, with oversight of the company's five regional markets. He also will be director of finance for the Ohio/Rhode Island market. He has been vice president and controller of the company's broadcast division since 2001. Glenn Lapkin has been named controller of the company's growth and performance group. He had been controller of the company's interactive media division. Carrie Wood has been named controller for accounting and financial reporting. She has been controller for the publishing and interactive media divisions since March and was acting controller for the publishing unit before that. Deichman, Lapkin and Wood will report to Tim Mulvaney, who becomes corporate controller on July 1.

These directors of finance in regional markets will report to Deichman. They are: Bob Acri, who will be director of finance for the Virginia/Tennessee market. Acri has been controller of the company's community newspapers since 2002. Rose Dommer, who will be director of finance for the North Carolina market. Dommer has been director of accounting for the publishing division since 2004. Allen Jenkins, who will be director of finance for the Mid-South market that includes South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi. Jenkins has been director of accounting for the broadcast division since 2007. MUSEUMS

Ginger Bower has been named president of the Virginia Center for Architecture. She previously worked with the Richmond Symphony as director of development, where she managed a multimillion dollar annual fund and endowment campaign. Before that she was chief development officer for YMCA of Metropolitan Washington. She has more than 20 years of experience in managing communications, marketing and development.

REAL ESTATE
Zachery Frederick has been promoted to senior associate at Grubb & Ellis/Harrison & Bates. He has been with the firm for four years and previously was an associate. Mike Weeks has joined Long & Foster Realtors as an agent in the Village of Midlothian office. Jonathan Ceaser has joined Long & Foster Realtors as an agent in the Innsbrook office. He has been a Realtor since 2001 and is licensed in Virginia and North Carolina. Jennifer Trower has joined Long & Foster Realtors as an agent in the Harbour Pointe office. Wendy Neugent has joined Long & Foster Realtors as an agent with the Don Cahoon Team of Harbour Pointe. She has a background in home staging and photography. Monica Rawles has joined Long & Foster Realtors as an agent in the Grove Avenue office. She is an associate broker.
