Table Talk: Café Caturra opening a Short Pump outpost

Café Caturra Coffee & Wine has been such a success that a fourth location is coming to the Richmond area.

The coffee shop/café/wine bar is expected to open by mid-September at the Short Pump Crossing Shopping Center (3332 Pump Road) in western Henrico County.

John Duffey, a joint venture partner in the business, said this location will feature a patio with seating for 40 and a wood-burning fireplace (a second one will be inside).

In addition to serving artisan coffee, breakfast sandwiches and pastries in the morning, a menu of salads, panini and homemade soups for lunch, and small plates -- which they call "wine fare" -- in the evenings, Café Caturra also offers a daily special from 3 to 6 p.m. called "$3, $4, $5."

All beers are $3 each, some small plates are $4 each and all glasses of wine are $5 each. Patrons are also encouraged to sample the wines before purchasing.

The new Café will be open 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday.
