Opening-night tickets for CenterStage on sale now
Tickets for the grand opening performances at Richmond CenterStage are now on sale.
The show, Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. in the Carpenter Theatre, will include a performance by each of CenterStage's nine producing resident companies.
Tickets range from $35 to $100 and can be purchased at http://www.ticketmaster.com (search for "Carpenter Theatre").
The performers at the single-ticket show are: African American Repertory Theatre (poetry readings celebrating Langston Hughes); Elegba Folklore Society (performance of "Mandiani"); Richmond Ballet (performance of Stoner Winslett's "Windows IV"); Richmond Jazz Society (octet of Virginia jazz musicians performing "Generations of Jazz"); Richmond Shakespeare (songs and sonnets by Shakespeare, with the Richmond Symphony Orchestra); Richmond Symphony (Bernstein's overture from "Candide" and Shostakovich's "Festive Overture"); School of the Performing Arts in the Richmond Community (a medley from "Les Misérables"); Theatre IV Barksdale (excerpts from "High School Musical," "Thoroughly Modern Millie, "The Sound of Music" and others); Virginia Opera (excerpts from "La Bohème").
