LOS ANGELES -- NBC is renewing "Law & Order" for a record-tying 20th season.
People familiar with NBC's plans say the network is set to announce its fall schedule today, and the durable crime drama will be on it. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to discuss the decision.
"Law & Order" will stand with "Gunsmoke" as TV's longest-running prime-time drama. The Western aired from 1955 to 1975 on CBS.
