Motorcyclist dies after striking median in Prince William
Jason Lee Wright, 32, of Woodbridge died yesterday at Potomac Hospital less than an hour after the motorcycle he was riding struck the median at 10:30 p.m.
He was traveling south on Springwoods Drive at Bracknell Drive in Prince William County when the crash occurred, authorities said.
On Thursday, two people died on Virginia roads.
A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Albemarle County.
Police said Cathy Michele Dalton Eppes, 45, of Forest was driving a car on Monacan Trail Road, three-tenths of a mile south of Boaz Road, when it struck and jumped a guardrail, hit some trees and overturned at 7:38 p.m.
Eppes, who police said was wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.
Also, a Victoria woman was killed that day in a crash in Charlotte County.
Mary Ellen Connor, 76, was driving a car west on state Route 654 at 10:20 a.m. when it went through a stop sign at an intersection and struck a pickup truck traveling north on U.S. 15.
Connor, who police said was wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.
Virginia's 2009 highway death toll was 102 yesterday, compared with 152 as of the same date last year.
