Man killed in Caroline house fire
A Caroline County man died in a fire at his home Saturday evening, authorities said.
The fire took place sometime around 7:30 or 8 p.m. in the 30000 block of Bethlehem Road near the Essex County line, said Col. Michael Hall of the Sheriff's Office.
Virginia State Police and Caroline authorities are investigating the cause of the fire. Hall said he was aware of no evidence suggesting arson.
Authorities did not immediately identify the dead man.
