Prince George initiative leads to 35 arrests

Since Memorial Day weekend, a new Prince George County Police initiative, the Party Intervention Teams, has made 35 arrests for offenses ranging from underage possession of alcohol to driving under the influence.

This new initiative is a focused effort to deter juveniles and teens from using alcohol and drugs as well as keeping them off the street past curfew.

So far the effort has resulted in the following arrests:

  • 21 for contributing to the delinquency of a minor

  • 11 underage possession of alcohol

  • 2 curfew violations

  • 1 driving under the influence

The party intervention operation is a joint effort between Prince George Police, the commonwealth attorney's office and the 6th District Court Services Unit.

Police are soliciting tips from the community to help identify potential parties and illegal activity. Citizens can report underage drinking, drug use or similar problems to the Prince George County Police at (804) 733-2770 or anonymously through Crime Solvers at (804) 733-2777.
