Shooting victim, friends overpower suspect In Henrico
A gunshot victim and his friends overpowered the shooter, took his gun, held him down and summoned police earlier tonight in Henrico County, authorities said.
The 34-year-old man was shot after an argument with the gunman about 8:40 p.m. in the 5900 block of Queens Thorpe Court, said police Lt. J.C. Holmes. Police believe the suspect was intoxicated.
The victim and his two friends took the gun and someone called 911, Holmes said.
The victim and the suspect were taken to VCU Medical Center, both with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Holmes did not say what type of injuries the suspect had, and he did not identify any of the men involved.

Hey country boy, so why don’t you move. The next time you need help don’t bother the police, call a crackhead to help you out. It must be nice to be so much better than everyone else. I don’t see you putting your life on the line to protect our homes and family.
Reporters write these articles, not the police.
It’s a shame that the police can’t even tell if the person was intoxicated or not. It states that the police BELIEVES the suspect was intoxicated!
What a top notch bunch we have!!
Pathetic!
wow im glad they were able to do that. that was across the street from where i live at.
Stupid people do stupid things. We only read about bad things in the newspaper when alcohol is involved. We never read about the non bad things/ or good things when alcohol is involved. Not as interesting to read. You cannot legislate stupidity. Yeah, legalize marijuana, tax it and take it out of the ‘dealers’ domain. Some crime ought to drop.
Aside from the fact that it didn’t work, one of the reaons Prohibition was overturned was the crime-related death rate. If nothing else, that experience should have taught us that we can’t legislate either morality or good sense.
With all of the stupid things that happen when people drink, why is alcohol still legal? If marajuana is bad then alcohol has to be 1000 times worse. How many people have to die, or how many lives have to be destroyed before we bring back prohibition?
