What would happen if an officer pulls someone over thinking they weren’t wearing their seat belt, and finds drugs, or arrests them for something else.. and they had their seat belts on?
I don’t like people driving while drunk, or high..etc.. but i believe in the bill of rights, and i don’t think not wearing a seatbelt should be a pull over offense.
Seat belt law = just another tool to surrender your freedom while raising revenue for your master. Yes, it makes sense to wear them. No, we don’t need the government to tell us that. Personal choice and freedom. Apparently, there are many of you that are uncomfortable with the concept of personal responsibility.
i am glad you know me for your info i have been in several one was end over end 5 times down a hill and a few others so dont sit there and act like you know me do what you wanna do its your opinion this seat belt is just so they can make money
dolphinsfan37: nobody said seat belts were 100% effective against fatalities—nothing is. However, your chances of surviving with one are much, much greater. I’ll take my chances with the belt any day.
Just because you base your opinion on one incident, does not mean that’s true every time.
Just like flying, it is a risk like driving, but I’ll take my chances flying over driving with nuts on the road who don’t give a da—n. You may say, what about the plane crash that killed over 200 people? What about twice that who died today on the road and nobody bats an eye about it?
Then you might say you have control over your car. That’s nonsense! You have no more control over someone else’s stupidity than the pilot flying that plane. You may be a responsible driver, but what about that turkey next to you on the road? Have they been drinking, taking drugs, had enough sleep, car in good repair??
So, your logic does not make sense.
this seatbelt law is a joke it just gives them the right to pull you for anything and i know for a fact that a seatbelt does not allways save you like they said they are just idiots that wanna make money how many of yall ever been in a real accident like i have and they said if i was wearing a seatbelt i would have died and they said that about my mom so i wont wear one i dont care i have told them i wont they can stick it for all i am concered they are just bragging how much they made
Just so yall don’t think I’m bitter over a ticket.. I actually have never had a moving violation in over 20 yrs of driving… so it is just that I am observing the police pay what I think is more attention to an endevour that would generate revenue.. as opposed to enforcing loitering or drinking in public down by the river (which I see a lot..lol).
I get super po’ed too when people blow my doors and tailgate.. Funny thing is I have had police cars follow me at an unsafe distance before..
I do believe that people should be responsible for their actions..take personal responsibility. Driving a safe speed for the conditions without distractions is part of that.
Most of you people think this is a money-grabbing tactic of the RPD.
Today, for example, most of the accidents occurring today were due to SPEED, driving too fast for conditions, and following too closely. Most of the time you can get away with driving 55 in a 35 zone but not today.
Please, please, so you are 5 minutes late for your appointment, for whatever reason, it’s not my fault and please don’t kill ME or ANYONE else. Please keep it within 5 mph of the posted speed limit, pleeaasee!
I followed a BMR convertible going 20+ mph over the limit on Monument (in the city), passing everyone else and changing lanes. I lost sight of it, but I turned on Libbie, and low and behold, he was at the light with me at Libbie and Broad. So, what was the point—that you can go faster than me, but still get to the same light?
You show me your stupidity and arrogance.
There weren’t 1,900 tickets written for no seat belt, but 193. In other words, a dismal failure.
If someone wants to ride around without a seat belt on, first, they’re stupid; second, it’s their business if they want to go through the windshield; third, insurance companies ought to be able to deny claims if the driver had no seat belt on.
And what did the Founding Father’s do? Because we still have taxes?!?!
“Oh god, why is everyone always talkin about their taxpayer money going to this and that. So what!...And its not going to change, we will always have taxes so GET OVER IT!“ said the King of England. Good thing the Founding Fathers didn’t agree…just sayin’.
