Two women were arrested after a fight in North Richmond left one with injuries from a frying pan and another with a small stab wound from a steak knife.

Richmond police Capt. Scott Booth said both women were treated at VCU Medical Center for minor injuries and released after Tuesday's altercation, which occurred shortly before 5 p.m. in the 2900 block of Griffin Avenue.

Booth said it began when one woman used a frying pan to assault the other woman, who retrieved a steak knife and stabbed the first woman in one thigh.

Tonya Lee, 36, of the 2900 block of Griffin Avenue was charged with assault and battery, and Shantelle Valentine, 38, of the 4300 block of Mylan Road was charged with felonious assault.

Sorry Bill, it’s going to be a lemon zester… those things just leave NASTY scratches! After that, probably a melon ball scoop.

So in the last week, we’ve had assaults by a meat tenderizer, a frying pan and a steak knife.  What’s next?  A cheese grater?
