WWII POWs Posed Much Bigger Problems
Editor, Times-Dispatch: Guantanamo Bay should not be closed and the terrorists there should not be moved.

But, before we get all a-twitter about moving them to prisons in this country, we should remember that 65 years ago, we brought hundreds of thousands of German and Italian prisoners to this country during World War II, many of them Nazis or Nazi sympathizers. Many came to Virginia.

That was a much bigger problem than dealing with this handful of thugs in Cuba. Have we lost our nerve entirely?

Robert P. Hilldrup.

Mr. Hilldrup, The WWII prisoners that were brought here to the US were not card carrying terrorists.  They were defeated soldiers who had wilingly given up there weapons and agreed to live peacefully in the US.  The Gitmo terrorist have a life long desire to wipe out all US citizens.
