Correspondent of the Day: Family’s Good Morals Are Passed to Society
Family's Good Morals Are Passed to Society
Editor, Times-Dispatch: "Business and Ethics" was a great Op/Ed combination by Bart Hinkle and Don Gehring regarding moral compasses. The newspaper is to be commended for recognizing and encouraging good personal and business ethical behavior.
The Ukrops were mentioned in relation to grocery wars, revenues, and scruples. It is obvious that the family didn't just stumble across a good moral compass. Compassion, fairness, philanthropy, and moral values are learned from family, friends, and a society advocating high ethical standards. The Ukrops pass these values on by being exceptional role models. They will always be first in the hearts of countless customers and competitors.
I'm also glad to know that Chik-fil-A is in the same league as Ukrop's. I'll be eating even more chikin' there now.

Kudos to Ukrop’s and Chick-Fil-A for being “honorable” and having scruples. I patronize both of them occasionally, although I secretly wish they would be open on Sundays (often my only ‘free’ day at home).
