EVANSTON, Ill. -- No. 12 Penn State shut out Northwestern in the second half, and the Nittany Lions scored three fourth-quarter touchdowns in less than four minutes to beat Northwestern 34-13 last night in a Big Ten game.

Daryll Clark threw a 53-yard TD pass to Derek Moye and Evan Royster broke off a 69-yard scoring run to highlight the fourth-quarter surge that took 3 minutes, 40 seconds.

Penn State (4-1, 8-1) trailed 10-3 in the second quarter when Northwestern quarterback Mike Kafka was forced out with a leg injury. And the Nittany Lions were still behind 13-10 at the half. But they blanked the Wildcats and backup QB Dan Persa in the final two quarters and gave coach Joe Paterno his 391st win.

No. 1 Florida 41, Georgia 17

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Tim Tebow accounted for four touchdowns, A.J. Jones had two interceptions and Florida (6-0, 8-0) beat Georgia (3-3, 4-4) for its 17th win in the last 20 meetings between the Southeastern Conference rivals.

The Gators extended the nation's longest winning streak to 18 games and clinched at least a share of the SEC East title.

Auburn 33, No. 24 Miss. 20

AUBURN, Ala. -- Chris Todd passed for 212 yards, Ben Tate ran for 144 yards and Walt McFadden returned an interception for a touchdown to lift Auburn to a Southeastern Conference win over Mississippi.

The Tigers (3-3, 6-3) scored 23 points in the third quarter and turned away Jevan Snead and the Rebels (2-3, 5-3) seven times on drives to midfield or beyond.

USF 30, No. 20 WVU 19

TAMPA, Fla. -- Redshirt freshman quarterback B.J. Daniels threw for 232 yards and ran for 104 to help South Florida (2-2, 6-2) beat Big East rival West Virginia (2-1, 6-2) for the third time in four years. Daniels threw TD passes of 49 yards to Carlton Mitchell, 11 yards to A.J. Love and six yards to Sterling Griffin.

NO. 8 TCU 41, UNLV 0: Andy Dalton threw three touchdown passes, Ed Wesley scored running and catching the ball and the TCU defense smothered UNLV (1-4, 3-6) to get its first shutout of the season in a Mountain West game in Fort Worth, Texas. TCU (4-0, 8-0) won its 10th consecutive game overall, and 12th in a row at home.

NO. 15 HOUSTON 50, SOUTHERN MISS 43: Case Keenum threw for a career-high 559 yards and had five touchdowns, his last coming with 21 seconds remaining, and Houston (3-1, 7-1) escaped with a Conference USA win over visiting Southern Mississippi (3-2, 5-4).

NO. 5 CINCINNATI 28, SYRACUSE 7: Zach Collaros threw four touchdown passes, the Cincinnati defense forced two key turnovers and the Bearcats (4-0, 8-0) beat host Syracuse in a Big East game. Collaros finished 22 of 28 for 295 yards and no turnovers against Syracuse (0-3, 3-5).

NO. 6 BOISE STATE 45, SAN JOSE STATE 7: Kellen Moore threw for 278 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another to lead host Boise State to its eighth straight win in a Western Athletic Conference game. Boise State (3-0, 8-0) got plenty of help from its defense, which held the Spartans (0-3, 1-6) to 221 total yards and forced two turnovers that led to touchdowns.

NO. 17 OHIO STATE 45, NEW MEXICO STATE 0: Dane Sanzenbacher caught two touchdown passes and Terrelle Pryor threw for one and ran for another to spur Ohio State (7-2) to a romp over New Mexico State (3-6).
