CAPITAL DISTRICT

Highland Springs

Coach: George Lancaster

Last season: 12-0, 25-2

Key players: C Natwan Young, 6-5, Sr.; G Xavier Parham, 5-10, Sr.; F Trey Williams, 6-3, Sr.; G Aaron Hodnett, 5-11, Sr.
Outlook: Last year's reserves move into starting roles, but the lack of inexperience is evident. Young showed flashes of brilliance, but as the leading returning scorer and rebounder, he averaged 4.4 ppg and 3.0 rpg. Lack of height could be an issue. The tallest players (Young and Scottie Williams) are 6-5. The Springers, at least at the beginning, could be vulnerable.

Henrico

Coach: Vance Harmon

Last season: 10-2, 19-8

Key players: G Trey Davis, 6-4, So.; C David Zavelsky, 6-6, Sr.; G Kris Walden, 6-0, So.; G Michael Johnson, 6-5, So.
Outlook: Very young Warriors have a developing star in Davis and a solid contributor in Zavelsky. Harmon has to find replacements for 75 percent of the scoring and 80 percent of the rebounding from last year. Quickness and athletic ability is there. Despite the youth, Warriors will remain competitive.

Atlee

Coach: Phil Reynolds

Last season: 4-8, 11-12

Key players: G Cameron Colquitt, 5-11, Sr.; F Daniel Faggert, 6-4, Sr.; C Austin Young, 6-3, Jr.; G Dylan Garthright, 6-0, Jr.
Outlook: The other district foes are happy to see Colquitt and Faggert finally are seniors. Colquitt (17.8 ppg) was first-team all-district. Faggert averaged 13.5 points and 6.3 rebounds. Young contributed 5.2 rebounds, but rebounding is an area that Reynolds says needs work. The experienced Raiders will be better defensively.

Varina

Coach: Matt McKeag

Last season: 6-6, 9-15

Key players: G/F Quvaughn Jones, 6-1, So.; G Che'von Davenport, 5-10, Sr.; F Bobby Smith, 6-5, Sr.; F/C Tyler Smith, 6-5, Sr.
Outlook: New coach McKeag will have a better team when football players Jones and B. Smith find their basketball legs. Jones led Blue Devils in scoring last year. Davenport, T. Smith and B. Smith also are capable scorers. Good players are coming up from last year's junior varsity. The key is meshing some talented players with a new coach/system.

Armstrong

Coach: Darryl Watts

Last season: 6-6, 9-13

Key players: G Quentin Christian, 5-11, Sr.; C Nathaniel Taylor, 6-4, Sr.; F Zach Benjamin, 6-4, Sr.; G Xavier Gary, 5-10, Jr.
Outlook: The Wildcats return four starters. Taylor (15 ppg) and Christian (13 ppg) were among the top scorers in the district. Taylor (6.5 rpg) is the top rebounder, followed by Benjamin. Armstrong has experience, athleticism and speed. Lack of depth and no one taller than 6-4 could be issues.

Hanover

Coach: Troy Manns

Last season: 0-12, 4-19

Key players: F Dylan Cole, 6-7, Sr.; G Drew Crytser, 6-4, Sr.; G Greg Lewis, 6-2, So.; F Jared Yeager, 6-7, Sr.
Outlook: The Hawks have no way to go but up in the district for first-year coach Manns. Three starters return, including leading scorer Cole (15.7 ppg), and Crytser also put points on the board. Hanover has size in Cole and Yeager. Crytser and Lewis form a tall backcourt, but they need to improve their ballhandling.

Lee-Davis

Coach: Tripp Metzger

Last season: 4-8, 9-14

Key players: F T.J. Harvey, 6-1, Sr.; F Travis Abele, 6-2, Sr.; G Garrett Joyner, 5-10, Sr.; C Philip Berry, 6-3, Sr.
Outlook: The Confederates are a smart team, capable of shooting the ball well from the perimeter. They aren't very big, and they will put an entirely new starting lineup on the floor. Who's going to do the scoring? Harvey averaged 4.9 ppg last year, and that's the best of the returnees. Lack of height means trouble on the boards.
CENTRAL DISTRICT

Petersburg

Coach: William Lawson III

Last season : 14-0, 28-4

Key players: C Cadarian Raines, 6-9, Sr.; G Drejon Scott, 5-10, Sr.; G Chris Moore, 5-9, Sr.; G/F Chris Evans, 6-6, Sr.
Outlook: The Wave continues to be a favorite in the region, with Raines, Scott and Moore returning as starters from last year's region runner-up and state semifinalist. Eight seniors are on the roster. Raines (14.5 ppg, 10.2 rpg) has signed with Virginia Tech. Scott (13.7 ppg) and Moore are solid in the backcourt. Evans, a transfer from Deep Creek, adds athleticism and skill to the lineup.

Hopewell

Coach: Reggie Simon

Last season: 7-7, 14-11

Key players: G Milton Gholson, 6-0, Sr.; G/F David Rose, 6-0, Jr.; G Calvin Ruiz, 5-11, Sr.; F Bilal Tyler, 6-0, Sr.
Outlook: Simon, in his second year, is blessed to have two of the top players in the district: Gholson and Rose. Both averaged 17 points a game, but Rose didn't join the Blue Devils until the second semester. The duo and Ruiz make up one of the area's best group of guards. The drawback is no size.

Meadowbrook

Coach: Ksaan Brown

Last season : 10-4, 15-7

Key players: G Doug Brewer, 6-2, Sr; G Andrew Simmons, 6-0, Jr.; G Malcolm Aiken, 5-10, Sr.; F Sterling Martin, 6-3, Sr.
Outlook: Brown is in his first year as coach after serving as an assistant to John B. Gordon III. The Monarchs are strong at guard with Brewer (12.5 ppg), their leading returning scorer, Simmons (9 ppg) and Aiken (6.7). Meadowbrook is undersized on the front line. Brown plans to use nine or 10 players in the rotation.

Prince George

Coach: Bill Russell

Last season : 11-3, 18-5

Key players: F Treon Claiborne, 6-1, Jr.; C Tyler Johnson, 6-3, Sr.; F Nic Sulc, 6-2, So.; F Albert Williams, 6-3, So.
Outlook: Claiborne (11.2 ppg, 5.4 rpg) and Johnson (6.1 ppg) are starters from last year's squad that finished second in the district. After them, the experience level drops off dramatically. Williams was a standout on Prince George's junior varsity. Sulc is a transfer from West End Christian, where he averaged more than 20 points a game.

Dinwiddie

Coach: Jeff Walters

Last season: 3-11, 11-16

Key players: F Sam Haskins, 6-6, Sr.; G Jerrell White, 6-0, Sr.; F Lamont Fields, 6-4, So.; G Devon Parham, 6-2, Jr.
Outlook: Gone is two-time All-Metro forward DeOnte Lewis and his 19.8 ppg. White is the leading returning scorer (10.9 ppg). He and Haskins are football players who will have to find their basketball legs. The rest of the roster is inexperienced. The Generals are athletic but will have to learn under game conditions.

Thomas Dale

Coach: Eddie Goss

Last season: 4-10, 7-14

Key players: G Ariek Green, 5-10, Jr.; F Michael Simms, 6-0, Sr.; F Demetrius Campbell, 6-2, Jr.; G Myles Turner, 5-11, So.
Outlook: The Knights are young, inexperienced and small. Only one starter (Green) is back. He averaged 6.2 ppg. Simms saw time and averaged 5.2 ppg. Turner and Campbell are moving up from the junior varsity as is 6-3 forward Andrew White, another sophomore.

Matoaca

Coach: Charles Payton

Last season: 6-8, 11-11

Key players: F Bobby Irving, 6-2, Sr.; F Traore Benefield, 6-2, Jr.; C Dillon Prendergast, 6-4, Jr.; G DeCarlos Smith, 5-8, Sr.
Outlook: The Warriors are facing a rebuilding year after all five starters graduated. Irving, Benefield and Smith saw playing time as reserves last year. From where will the scoring come? The same question pertains to rebounding. Prendergast and Raymond Coleman are the tallest players at 6-4.

Colonial Heights

Coach: John Thomas Jr.

Last season: 1-13, 2-19

Key players: G Jacob Hagy, 5-10, Jr.; G Tyler Drewes, 6-0, Jr.; F Lance Dyer, 6-4, Jr.; F Taylor Kochuba, 6-4, So.
Outlook: The Colonials are young again, even though four starters return. Foremost among them are Hagy (17 ppg), one of the district's leading scorers, Drewes (11 ppg) and Dyer (12 ppg, 7 rpg). Rebounding is a weak point because the Colonials aren't very tall.
COLONIAL DISTRICT

John Marshall

Coach: Frank Threatts Jr.

Last season: 15-0, 26-3

Key players: F Travis McKie, 6-6, Jr.; F Maurice Johnson, 6-4, Sr.; G Randall Ward, 6-0, Sr.; G Quantae Cooley, 6-2, Sr.
Outlook: The reigning Central Region champions are in position to defend. The Justices have scorers, rebounders and can play defense. McKie (19 ppg, 9 rpg) was first-team All-Metro. Johnson (14 ppg, 5 rpg) and Ward (10 ppg) provide ample support. Cooley transferred from Thomas Jefferson, and 6-6 junior Maurice Conyers transferred from Georgia.

Douglas Freeman

Coach: Larry Parpart

Last season: 11-4, 17-8

Key players: F Jake Eastman, 6-3, Sr.; C Josh Brinkley, 6-5, Sr.; F Billy Giles, 6-5, Sr.; G Justin Mann, 5-7, So.
Outlook: The Rebels return Eastman (14.2 ppg, 7.7 rpg) and Brinkley (14.9, 6.9), two of the top players in the district and region. Giles can score and rebound. Mann and Phillip Rohrer can knock down 3-pointers, and Monty Smalley is a good defender. Team rebounding and defense are strong points.

Deep Run

Coach: Rally Axselle

Last season: 10-5, 17-8

Key players: G Antone Exum, 6-1, Sr.; F Tommy Folliard, 6-5, Sr.; F/C Michael Dosh, 6-5, Sr.; G Jay Johnson, 6-1, Jr.
Outlook: The Wildcats have two starters returning and a new coach. Axselle was an assistant at Mills Godwin. He'll build the team around Exum (19 ppg) and Folliard (14 ppg), two of the district's top scorers. Both averaged more than 5 rebounds a game. Folliard and Johnson are excellent 3-point shooters. Rebounding and depth are areas that need improvement.

Mills Godwin

Coach: Hunter Thomas

Last season: 11-4, 16-10

Key players: F Fletcher Lumpkin, 6-5, Sr.; G Garrett Harvey, 6-2, Jr.; G Adam Caine, 6-2, Sr.; F Andy Parsons, 6-5, Sr.
Outlook: The Eagles are strong on the perimeter, but how they fare inside after the graduation of Kefentse Budd is a question mark. Lumpkin (11.4 ppg) can score and will need to increase his rebounding (5.6 rpg). Caine is a solid contributor. Harvey, who has played at Freeman and Benedictine, is a welcome addition on both ends of the floor.

Hermitage

Coach: Joe Coulter

Last season: 4-11, 9-14

Key players: F Herman Kinard, 6-6, Sr.; G Chris Blount, 5-10, Sr.; G Manny Winston, 6-1, Sr.; G Micah Thomas, 6-0, Fr.
Outlook: The Panthers are more inexperienced this year than in the past. The top two scorers graduated, and the third-best point producer isn't playing. Kinard and Winston have the ability to take up the scoring load. Except for Kinard and Darren McLeod, the Panthers have little height.

J.R. Tucker

Coach: Corey Bradt

Last season : 9-7, 12-11

Key players: G Dante Spencer, 5-9, Sr.; G Phillip Thornton, 5-9, Sr.; C Orlando Irby, 6-3, Sr.; G Matt Campfield, 5-10, Jr.
Outlook: Four starters graduated, and Bradt has to replace all-district performer Adam Desgain. Spencer, Thornton, Irby and Campfield will be counted on to increase their contributions. The Tigers have depth and can handle the ball, but they have only one player as tall as 6-5.

Patrick Henry

Coach: David Wyatt

Last season : 2-14, 2-21

Key players: G John Carroll, 6-2, Sr.; G Raquis Morris, 5-11, Sr.; G Marquis Derricott, 6-0, Sr.; C Ian Overstreet, 6-6, Sr.
Outlook: The Patriots' three returning starters, Carroll, Morris and Overstreet, were last year's leading scorers. Depth and quickness are other strengths. Overstreet is the lone tall player. Freshman D'vonte Derricott, a 6-2 forward is expected to start. The Patriots need to make the pluses translate into more victories.

Thomas Jefferson

Coach: Barry Wilson

Last season : 5-11, 5-15

Outlook: The Vikings had the makings of a good team, then the key players transferred to Huguenot, John Marshall and Henrico. First-year coach Wilson is working with a team that lacks height and proven scorers.

Maggie Walker GS

Coach: Guy Davis

Last season : 0-12, 1-21

Key players: F Parker Kirwan, 6-4, Jr.; F Dan Laws, 6-1, So.; G David Wagner, 5-11, Jr.; G Paul Eiker, 6-1, Sr.
Outlook: The Green Dragons won just once last year with a young lineup. Though still young, they have more experience for veteran coach Davis. Kirwan was the second-leading scorer a year ago. Wagner and Eiker are set in the backcourt. Rebounding will be a problem, because the Green Dragons are small.
DOMINION DISTRICT

Huguenot

Coach: Bo Jones Sr.

Last season: 13-3, 16-10

Key players: G David Brown, 6-0, Sr.; C Jonathan Crawley, 6-8, Sr.; G Juan Wilson, 6-5, Sr.; F Corey Sheppard, 6-5, Sr.
Outlook: Jones Sr. is back for his second stint as the school's boys coach. Brown and the massive Crawley started last year. Crawley is the leading returning scorer from the Falcons, but Wilson, a transfer from Thomas Jefferson, averaged 17.9 points at TJ. Sheppard has been a contributor in the past.

Cosby

Coach: Ron Carr

Last season: 11-5, 20-7

Key players: C Matt Gorski, 6-11, So.; G David Robinson, 6-3, Jr.; F Daniel Virak, 6-5, Jr.; G Patrick McDaniel, 6-0, Sr.
Outlook: Gorski is the tallest player in the region. An increase from 4.4 ppg and 4.8 rpg would be welcome. The Titans have good height elsewhere. Robinson (15.5) is one of the district's best scorers but could use some help to keep defenses off him. The candidates include Virak and McDaniel. Carr is looking for improvement from the defense.

L.C. Bird

Coach: Chuck Thomas

Last season: 16-0, 24-4

Key players: G Rico Ferguson, 6-3, Sr.; G Deon Brown, 5-7, Sr.; F J'Quan Martin, 6-4, Sr.; G Anthony Harris, 6-1, So.
Outlook: Four starters and the coach have departed from last year's Skyhawks team that didn't lose to a district team. Chuck Tester handed the coaching duties to Thomas. The lone returning starter, Ferguson, is a good one. He averaged 16.3 ppg. Players moving into the lineup with him are good shooters and quick, but they have to grow into the roles quickly.

Clover Hill

Coach: Frank Short

Last season: 5-11, 5-18

Key players: G Jeremy Gross, 6-1, Sr.; C Hunter Tatum, 6-5, Sr.; G Josh Bailey, 5-10, Sr.; F Matt Lewis, 6-2, Sr.
Outlook: The Cavaliers' strengths are senior leadership and depth for first-year coach Short, whose son, D.J., was a Clover Hill star. None of the three returning starters averaged in double figures last year, but Gross was close (9.7 ppg). A more assertive Tatum (7.4 ppg, 6.5 rpg) would help in the middle. Bailey is a good shooter.

James River

Coach: Tracy Hamner

Last season: 7-9, 9-11

Key players: F Grant Deichman, 6-7, Sr.; F Tre Smith, 6-4, Sr.; G A.J. Nash, 6-0, Sr.; F Robbie Kemp, 6-4, Sr.
Outlook: Deichman (12.5 ppg and 9.7 rpg) gives first-year coach Hamner a building block for a senior-dominated team. Kemp and Smith give the Rapids size across the front. Depth at guard is an issue. Finding someone else to help with the scoring is imperative if the team is to improve its position in the district.

Manchester

Coach: Chad Long

Last season : 8-8, 11-14

Key players: G Luis Albalat, 5-10, Sr.; C Zach Youngman, 6-3, Sr.; G Matt Johnson, 5-8, Jr.; G Antonio Brown, 5-10, Sr.
Outlook: The Lancers return Albalat and Youngman as starters, but they lost the bulk of the offense to graduation. Both had big games last year. Youngman averaged 10 ppg, and Albalat contributed 8.6. Quickness and athleticism are attributes. Not much size will affect rebounding.

Monacan

Coach: Bill Roberson

Last season : 7-9, 9-14

Key players: G/F Sean Armstrong, 6-4, Jr.; F Cedrick Erving, 6-3, Sr.; PG Jeff Conner, 5-9, Jr.; G Bradley Riester, 6-0, Jr.
Outlook: The Chiefs return just one starter, but Armstrong is a good one. He averaged 11 ppg and 4 rpg. Otherwise, they are short on experience for new coach Roberson. Erving came off the bench last year and needs to increase his production. The others will have to play their way into time on the floor.

Midlothian

Coach: Chip McCoull

Last season : 5-11, 7-16

Key players: F Ricky Shrum, 6-4, Sr.; C Danny Klein, 6-5, Jr.; G Alex Randolph, 5-10, Sr.; G Josiah Shelton, 5-11, Jr.
Outlook: McCoull is looking for some scorers to take up the slack by the departure of the top three point producers. Shrum (5 ppg) and Klein will have to exchange complementary roles for leadership. Shelton is an athlete and could be a contributor. The Trojans will play hard on defense.

George Wythe

Coach: Paul Thomas

Last season : 0-16, 0-16

Key players: G Thomas Perry, 6-0, Sr.; G Clinton Whitaker, 6-0, Sr.; G Michael Miles, 6-1, Jr.; F Demontrey James, 6-2, So.
Outlook: The Bulldogs didn't win a game last year and never really came close. Whitaker is the top returning scorer. First-year coach Thomas is trying to stabilize the once prominent program.
OTHERS

Appomattox GS

Coach: Dagan Rowe

Last season: 3-9 Tri Rivers, 9-14

Key players: F Dimitri Ross, 6-4, Jr.; G Vincent Crawley, 6-0, So.; F Corey Jones, 6-1, Sr.; G Keith Nixon, 5-7, So.
Outlook: The Dragons, predicted to finish fifth in the district, look to rebuild after the loss of Baker, the district player of the year and second-team all-state and All-Metro, and five other seniors. Ross is the lone returning starter, and Crawley, Jones and Nixon are the only other returnees from last year's squad. This quartet, alongside a large group of newcomers, gives the Dragons their tallest lineup ever.

Benedictine

Coach: Sean McAloon

Last season: 28-7

Key players: G Darien Brothers, 6-3, Sr.; G Kevin Gill, 6-0, Jr.; G Erik Moody, 6-0, So.; G Brandon Connor, 6-1, Sr.
Outlook: The Cadets return two starters this season, but lost three, including T-D player of the year Ed Davis and Bradford Burgess. Brothers (10 ppg), who has signed with the University of Richmond, is the leading returning scorer. The Cadets are shorter than they have been in a long time. They will rely on their speed, quickness and shooting.

Blessed Sacrament Huguenot

Coach: Ben Pomeroy

Last season: 4-12 (VCC), 4-17

Outlook: Pomeroy moves into the coaching spot this season. The Knights have struggled the past couple of years. Moving up in the VCC can be tough.

Charles City

Coach: Sharone Bailey

Last season: 3-9 Tri-Rivers, 6-17

Key players: G Kevin Wallace, 5-9, Jr.; F Trevor Jones, 6-0, So.; G Cody Doan, 5-10, Sr.; F Wendell Jones, 5-10, Jr.
Outlook: The Panthers are in a rebuilding stage, but new coach Bailey is putting the pieces together. Wallace and T. Jones will be the nucleus of a team with a number of interchangeable players at a variety of positions.

Chesterfield Community

Coach: Toby Campbell

Last season: 11-1 Tri-Rivers, 21-6

Key players: G David Copeland, 6-2, Sr.; G Juhuan Robinson, 6-0, Jr.; G Kirk Able, 6-0, Sr.; G Patrick Johnson, 5-7, Sr.
Outlook: The Eagles have the core group back from last year's state tourney participant. Copeland (19.5 ppg) is the leader. Robinson is coming up as a big-time player, and along with Copeland, Able and Johnson, the Eagles could cause some matchup problems. All four can shoot. Lack of depth could be an issue in the long run, but the Eagles will be in the hunt for another district title.

Collegiate

Coach: Alex Peavey

Last season: 6-8 Prep League, 11-14

Key players: G/F Jake McGee, 6-6, Jr.; PG Patrick Corrigan, 6-1, Sr.; G Stephen Stites, 6-3, Sr.; C Tyler Agee, 6-4, Sr.
Outlook: The Cougars return eight players from a team that finished ninth in the state and fourth in the Prep League last season. Three starters are back. Depth and experience are strengths of this squad. McGee (18 ppg) and Stites (12.3), fresh off a state football title, will be strong leaders.

Evangel Christian

Coach: Marquis Allen

Last season: 34-4

Key players: F Javacci Anderson, 6-5, Sr.; C Kion Brown, 6-8, So.; F Nehemiah Thompson, 6-8, Sr.
Outlook: Evangel Christian is a very young team this season, having lost four starters. The reigning VIS Division III state champions are quick and competitive and will take on all challengers.

Goochland

Coach: Oliver Courtney
Last season: 6-5 (James River), 10-12
Key players: G Mark Sampson, 5-10, Sr.; C James Tinsley, 6-3, Sr.; G M.J. Cox, 5-8, Sr.
Outlook: The Bulldogs return three of last season's starters. The team can look to Samson, one of the top players in the district, for leadership and direction. He averaged 17 ppg. The Bulldogs are a quick team, yet small.

King William

Coach: Joe Harper

Last season: 9-1 (Tidewater), 21-6

Key players: F/C Dylan Beahr, 6-5, Jr.; G Jamar Carter, 5-10, Sr.; F/C Mike Williams, 6-5, Sr.; C Akeem Holmes, 6-9, So.
Outlook: The Cavaliers lost in the state semifinals last year, and the stars from that team have moved on. Isaiah Hill's replacement in the middle is Holmes. Beahr and Williams are tall, too, and saw plenty of action last season. Harper's looking for a consistent scorer.

New Kent

Coach: Ed Allen

Last season: 15-5 (Bay Rivers), 18-6

Key players: G/F Steven Allen, 6-0, Jr.; PG Dorrein Akrie, 5-10, Sr.; C Paul Kearney, 6-1, Jr.; G/F Everett Christian, 6-1, Jr.
Outlook: The Trojans are fast, have shooters and depth and can play defense. They also are young. S. Allen is the top returning scorer (15 ppg). Akrie, Christian and Kearney are capable of big scoring games. Rebounding could be an issue, because there isn't much height.

Powhatan

Coach: Steve Washburn
Last season: 9-3 (Southside), 16-5
Key players: G Shawn Minor, 5-9, Jr.; G Shawn Henderson, 6-1, Sr.; F Ellis Moore, 6-3, Jr.; F Phillip Barden, 6-3, Jr.
Outlook: The Indians are a young team that will have to grow up fast in order to keep up in a tough district. Minor, one of the district's top players, will have to pick up more of the scoring load as the lone returning starter. Minor, Henderson and Moore played football for the Indians as well and should bring plenty of athleticism to the team.

Richmond Christian

Coach: John Scorsone

Last season: 3-4 (VCC), 10-16

Key players: G Robert Ingersoll, 5-10, Sr.; F Dale Langford, 6-3, Sr.; PG Cameron Taylor, 5-10, Sr.; G Alex Wheeler, 5-7, Sr.
Outlook: The Warriors return four starters this season and have more experience and depth than before. Ingersoll (11.7 ppg) is the leading returning scorer. More production offensively from Taylor and Langford would be a boost.

St. Christopher's

Coach: Chris Brown
Last season: 4-10 (Prep League), 9-17
Key players: C Tom Hart, 6-9, Sr.; F Taylor Cobb, 6-5, Jr.; G Alec Vozenilek, 5-10, Jr.
Outlook: The Saints welcome back two starters this season and are young. Only three seniors are on the roster. Hart, who has a good midrange jumper, could be one of the Prep League's top players. Vozenilek returns at the point and is a good shooter, and several players move up from the JV squad. Rebounding is a concern, as well as depth in the backcourt.

Steward

Coach: R.J. Spelsberg

Last season: 14-2 (VCC), 21-5

Key players: F Sam Keller, 6-4, Sr.; G Davis Khoury, 5-11, Jr.; C Peter Howard, 6-3, Sr.; G Corey Blount, 6-1, Sr.
Outlook: The Spartans are dealing with the loss of four starters and several injuries. Keller, the only returning starter, is battling an injury. He's the top returning scorer (10 ppg) and is a very good rebounder (10 rpg). The return of the injured Howard (head) and Richard Kish (back) hasn't been determined. Spelsberg has to replace the scoring of Hector Ayala and Leandro Diaz (40 ppg).

Sussex Central

Coach: Rickey Barefoot
Last season: 8-4 (Tri-Rivers), 9-14
Key players: G Tyrone Cooper, 6-2, Sr.; G Robert Harris, 6-3, Jr.; C Nick Ford, 6-7, Sr.; F/C Titus Felts, 6-5, Jr.
Outlook: The Tigers have four returning starters from the team that battled Chesterfield Community in the district. Cooper, Harris and Felts can produce points. Ford and Felts give the Tigers a post presence.

Trinity Episcopal

Coach: Kenny Lambiotte
Last season: 3-11 (Prep League), 6-17
Key players: C Austin Chillemi, 6-6, Sr.; F Corey Pegram, 6-4, Sr.; F Jack Fletcher, 6-5, Jr.; G Andrew Sarlo, 6-0, Jr.
Outlook: The Titans are strong inside with Pegram (11.9 ppg, 4.8 rpg), Chillemi (10.4 ppg, 6 rpg) and Fletcher (7.3 ppg). Inexperience at guard may make it tough to get the ball inside. The Titans lack speed but are sound on both ends of the floor.
