Travis Walsh led four Amelia runners in the top 10 as they edged Cumberland for the James River District title at Pocahontas State Park. Buckingham's Eric Tipton won the boys individual title by 32 seconds over Terrence Skates from Randolph-Henry

Amelia's Megan Biddle outpaced the field by over a minute to take the girls championship. The top 15 individuals and all four boys teams advance to the Region B meet at Panorama Farm in Charlottesville.
