Louisa’s Baker third in Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships

Thomas Baker of Auburn, Washington, won the Young Men’s division of the USA Track & Field National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville. Baker finished the 5k event in 15 minutes, 56 seconds. Tyler Reed, competing with Equalizers Track Club, was second in 15:57.

Thomas Baker of Louisa County High School was third in 16:00, leading Richmond Track and Field.

Elizabeth Brandon of Idaho won the Young Women’s division in 18:24. Emma Saarel was two seconds back. Barbara Strehler of Trinity Episcopal School and competing with Richmond Track and Field was third.
