The skinny: Moves up from All-Metro second team as a junior. He scored four goals and had seven assists even though he was primarily a defensive player. Was all-district and all-region first team and will attend Radford. The Raiders eliminated undefeated Thomas Dale in the region quarterfinals.
What you didn't know: "I love playing golf."

Russell Bootwright

School: Mills Godwin
Year: Junior
Position: Midfield
The skinny: A key contributor in the Eagles' drive to the state championship game after last year's losing season. Bootwright scored seven goals and had five assists. He was first-team all-district and all-region.
What you didn't know: "I'm superstitious. I have to eat a bowl of spaghetti before every game."

Daniel Comer

School: Thomas Dale
Year: Senior
Position: Forward
The skinny: Comer scored nine goals and had two assists for the Knights. He was a second-team All-Metro pick last year. He earned first-team all-district and all-region accolades this year.

Nick DeProspero

School: Cosby
Year: Senior
Position: Forward
The skinny: DeProspero is first-team this season after a second-team spot last year. He scored eight goals this year and finished his career as the second-leading scorer in Cosby history. The Titans won the Dominion District and Central Region.
What you didn't know: "Before every game, at 2:33, I have a cheese and mustard on toasted white sandwich. An hour later, I have a bowl of Ramen noodles, but I never finish the bowl."

Evan Jones

School: Midlothian
Year: Senior
Position: Forward
The skinny: A four-year starter and first-team All-Metro and all-region selection the past two years, he has been one of the region's top scorers. Jones scored 38 goals in that span, 17 this year. Headed to Longwood where he was recruited to play defense.
What you didn't know: "I want to apply for dual citizenship with Great Britain. My dad [Coach Ted Jones] is from Wales."

Eduardo Lopez

School: Lee-Davis
Year: Senior
Position: Forward
The skinny: Add first-team all-state to repeat selections as Capital District player of the year and first-team all-region and All-Metro. He set a school record for goals in a season and finished a three-year career with 78 goals. He missed the Confederates' last two games because of injury but scored 24 goals this year. Intends to walk on at UNC Charlotte.
What you didn't know: "Mickey Mouse is my favorite cartoon character."

Patrick McDaniel

School: Cosby
Year: Senior
Position: Defender
The skinny: Tall and athletic (plays basketball, too), McDaniel spearheaded the Central Region champion Titans' stingy defense, which had 13 shutouts. He scored six goals and was first-team all-district and all-region and second-team all-state.
What you didn't know: "I wear the same socks for every game."

Is first-team all-state and has been all-district and all-region for two years. Moves up from All-Metro second team. Will attend the University of North Carolina.
What you didn't know: "The most influential person in my life has been my grandfather."

Brad Seymour

School: Hanover
Year: Senior
Position: Center back
The skinny: The Hawks' best defender was first-team all-district and all-region and steps up from second-team All-Metro to first team. He had two goals and two assists, but defense is where he'll play for VCU.
What you didn't know: "I have to eat a Snickers before every game."

Sandy Shiner

School: Mills Godwin
Year: Senior
Position: Center back
The skinny: Shiner concluded his high school career with a brilliant final season. He was the Colonial District player of the year and was selected first-team all-region and all-state. What you didn't know: "I love listening and dancing to techno music."

Sean Stowe

School: Cosby
Year: Senior
