Quarterfinals: Top bracket, Midlothian (12-3-3) at Deep Run (12-3-2), 7 p.m.; Prince George (9-6-1) at Atlee (15-0-2), 7; Lower bracket, Mills Godwin (13-3-1) at Cosby (14-2-1), 5:30; Hanover (11-4-1) at Thomas Dale (14-1-1), 5
Semifinals: Tomorrow at Cosby High, 5 and 7:30 p.m.
Final: Friday at Cosby High, 5:30 p.m.
Historical markers: Defending region champion Mills Godwin has been to the state tournament six years in a row. MG beat Cosby 1-0 March 19. Atlee won the region title in 2007. Midlothian is in the region tournament for the first time since capturing the crown in 2004. Midlothian and DR tied in OT March 12.
Players to watch: Jordan Roseboro, Atlee; Shelby Hooe, Hanover; Meredith Powroznik, PG; Tiffany Vandecker, TD; Anne Lumpkin, MG; Emma Newins, DR; Becca Wann, Cosby; Erin Layne, Midlothian.
Team to beat: Cosby has an 11-game winning streak.
Team to watch: Atlee.
