Dominion Resources says it’s culling reactor builders
Dominion Resources Inc. has winnowed down the number of potential builders for its proposed third nuclear reactor at the North Anna Power Station in Louisa County. "We are narrowing down the list," said Dominion spokesman Chet Wade, "and we expect to make a decision in the next two quarters."
Six companies, which Dominion would not identify, bid on the proposed 1,500-megawatt North Anna 3 power plant.
"We have not decided on whether to move forward with the project," Wade said, noting that the State Corporation Commission would have to approve the plant's construction.
North Anna's existing reactors generate a combined 1,800 megawatts of electricity. The company also operates nuclear plants in Surry County and in Connecticut and Wisconsin.

Build more nukes! Lots of them…We need all the power they can generate.
Anon, that is not surprising, Most of them dont have the moonbat enviro organizations like America. They dont want clean energy, they just dont want any energy. A company cannot exist with no business. You moan about jobs going overseas, and then make sure they do. Good boy! You do your masters bidding well.
The America-firsters are going to go bananas when they learn that all the qualified bidders are either European or Asian.
What’s Richmond’s evacuation plan?
I almost wrote a comment about the safety of nuclear power.. then realized that andweav was joking..lol
How many millions of people have died because of nuclear power?? Why are we letting these Capitalist Pigs build more death machines when they could be harnessing the power of the sun…and the moon- yes, that’s right!! The moon can be used to channel energy thru meditation and smoking pot! This is what we (meaning the good people of Vermont and California) need to utilize in order to ensure a “Green” planet! Long Live Che!
