Former Brink’s Home Security to push new name

» 5 Comments | Post a Comment

The home security company formerly owned by Henrico County-based The Brink's Co. is running an advertising campaign to promote its new name.

Broadview Security expects to spend up to $120 million during the next three years on a rebranding campaign.

Most of the marketing effort is focused on television advertising, which started in July after the company changed its brand name from Brink's Home Security to Broadview.

Brink's Home Security Holdings Inc. was spun off as a separate company from The Brink's Co. in October 2008.

The Brink's Co. retained its secure transportation and cash management businesses.

As a condition of the spin-off, Brink's Home Security had three years to change its brand name and corporate name. The company has not yet set a date for its corporate name change.

Broadview Security, which is based in Irving, Texas, has about 42,000 customers in Virginia and three branch offices.

I was wondering why they changed their name. I thought it was a pretty stupid change, but I didn’t know it had been spun off. Nor did I know that Brinks is headquartered in Henrico.

goodoleboy… they’re bigoted? How? Because they don’t show a drug house in Church Hill being broken into and the dealer talking to the security guy?

Maybe they should try this…

(Door kicked in, sounds of automatic gunfire)

(Alarm goes off)

“Broadview Security—is something wrong, sir?“

“(sucking down a crack pipe while gunfire continues) Uh… naw, naw man, we cool (exhale)“

Good catch, RTD! The ads with the name change have only been running for six weeks.

It’s amusing how Broadview presents the illusion of “instant” security.  It’s amazing that Broadview has patented the 3 second telephone response.

Last time I checked, it takes about 30 seconds in a “best case” scenerio.

Broadview Security advertisements on TV are the most bigoted ads in the history of television. They should be ashamed.
