The following shows the total number of properties with foreclosure proceedings in the first quarter, followed by the rate of foreclosure and the percentage change from the same period a year ago:U.S.: 803,489, or one in every 159 households, up 24 percent
Virginia: 14,725, or one in every 222 households, up 12 percent
Chesterfield County: 557, one in every 209 households, up 60 percent
Hanover County: 99, one in every 379 households, up 80 percent
Henrico County: 374, one in every 337 households, up 14 percent
Richmond: 479, one in every 197 households, up 52 percent
