SnagAJob.com cited as a top employer for young workers
SnagAJob.com last night won the Young Professional Workplace Award for fostering a dynamic, supportive environment for young professionals.
The award, in its first year, recognizes a firm that attracts and retains young employees, promotes a work-life balance, offers development and leadership opportunities and encourages volunteerism.
Based in Henrico County, SnagAJob lists hourly employment opportunities from across the country online.
Of its 120 employees in the Richmond region, 100 are younger than 40. The firm holds weekly meetings to note employee contributions and provides tuition reimbursement.
The award is sponsored by the Helping Young Professionals Engage group, or HYPE, a Greater Richmond Chamber initiative. Forty-one businesses were nominated. Nominees did not have to be chamber members.
The three finalists were Affinion Loyalty Group, a marketing firm; Genworth Financial Inc., a Fortune 500 insurer; and Play, a strategy consultant.
The award was presented during a party at the Science Museum of Virginia. -- Emily C. Dooley
