RECALLS
-- About 56,450 Jardine cribs have been recalled because the wooden crib slats can break, creating a gap, which can pose an entrapment and strangulation hazard to infants and toddlers.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission has received 19 additional incidents of crib slats breaking. In nine of these incidents, consumers reported that their infant or toddler broke the slat while in the crib. Also, a 22-month-old child fell through the gap between the crib slats when a slat broke.
No injuries have been reported.
This recall involves three models of Jardine wooden cribs. The cribs were sold at stores nationwide from March 2004 through this month.

About 10,000 four-slice electric toasters by Viking Range Corp. have been recalled because the wiring inside the toaster can become loose and contact the toaster body, posing a shock hazard.
Viking has received five reports from consumers who experienced minor shock when touching the outside of the toaster.
The toasters were sold from April 2005 through November 2008.

About 55,000 girls blue denim passport jackets from Ms. Bubbles Inc. have been recalled because jackets have a drawstring through the hood that can pose a strangulation hazard to children.
No injuries have been reported.
The jackets were sold nationwide from August 2007 through December 2007.
