Power-networking event for women slated Wednesday

Get out your business cards and company brochures -- and get ready to do some fast talking.

The River City Express Network, a local chapter of the American Business Women's Association, will hold a high-energy power networking event for 60 women Wednesday.

The event, "SpeedNetworking!" will be a fast-paced, timed networking program.

Participants will form groups of about four and have one minute each to talk about themselves or their company, said Roxi Saultz-Dikteruk, River City's vice president of public relations and marketing.

"It's one-on-one time to expose people to their business," she said.

It's also a cost-effective way to contact many women at one event, she said.

"We are not just about making contacts but building business relationships," Saultz-Dikteruk said. "This is the beginning of these kinds of relationships. It's more than just handing out business cards."

The speed networking session will be held at the Willow Oaks Country Club at 6228 Forest Hill Ave. in South Richmond. Networking starts at 7:30 a.m. A program follows at 8.

Attendance is limited to the first 60 paid registrants and costs $15 for members, $25 for nonmembers.
