KBS Inc. is the largest locally owned construction firm in central Virginia. Here is a partial list of projects:
Office: CarMax headquarters in Goochland County; Luck Stone headquarters addition and renovations in Goochland; and United Network for Organ Sharing headquarters in Richmond
Retail: The Shops at White Oak Village in Henrico County; Wal-Mart stores (five in central Virginia); Lowe's home-improvement stores (24 locations throughout Virginia and Maryland); and Ukrop's stores (more than 10 locations)
Mixed use: West Broad Village in Henrico; and The Villages of Stoney Run in Newport News
Multiresidential: Addison at Crater Woods in Petersburg; Belvedere apartments in Chesterfield; Hampton Roads military housing; and River Forest apartments in Chester
Adaptive reuse: One Monument Avenue in Richmond; Edgeworth Building and American Tobacco Center in Shockoe Bottom; and Old Manchester Lofts in South Richmond
Education: Appomattox Regional Governor's School ; and Maggie L. Walker Governor's School
Recreation/hospitality: Country Club of Virginia Aquatic Center; Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral addition; and American Family Fitness (four locations)
