L. Lee Byrd has been named secretary of the Executive Committee of the Law Firm Alliance. He is an attorney with Sands Anderson Marks & Miller.
Richard S. Johnson has been elected to the board of directors and appointed to the audit committee for Grubb & Ellis Apartment REIT Inc. He is the chief executive officer of the Wilton Cos.
Cynthia Price has been elected president of the 1,500member National Federation of Press Women. She is with ChildFund International.
Sande Snead has been elected to the board of the Virginia Press Women Foundation. She is with Pulsar Advertising in Richmond.
Jeffrey N. Lighthiser will become chief executive officer and president of Draper Aden Associates on Jan. 1. A registered professional engineer in six states, he has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Virginia Tech.
Bill Aden will continue to serve as chairman of the board at Draper Aden Associates. A co-founder of the company, he will remain president and chief executive officer until Dec. 31. He will continue to work with the firm in its business development efforts and will take on special strategic projects.
New officers on the board of directors for the Central Virginia Health Planning Agency are: president, Susan Landsidle with Optima Health Plans; first vice president, Deborah Davis with Sussex County; second vice president, J. Eric Miller with Capital One; treasurer, Rod Manifold with Central Virginia Health Services; secretary, A. Taylor Harvie III with Coverly Co.; at-large representative, Brenda Mitchell with Crater Community Hospice. Board members re-elected are: Dr. Alfred J. Certosimo, VCU School of Dentistry; Deborah Davis, assistant county administrator of Sussex County; Susan Landsidle, senior sales consultant with Optima Health Plans; and Joe Walton, District 1 representative, Powhatan County Board of Supervisors. The board elected: Lucinda Knarr with Golden Living Center Petersburg; Dorothy Jaeckle, Bermuda District representative, Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors; and Martha Burton with Crater Planning District Commission.
Nik Hiremath was named vice president for Supply Chain at MeadWestavco Corp. He joined MeadWestavco in 2001. He has served as director, Operations Planning and Strategy, and vice president, Procurement & Supply Management for the Consumer & Office Products division. Most recently, he led its Global Sourcing function as vice president. He earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from the University of Missouri.
