R. Wayne Todd is a bass player with an art attitude.
The Short Pump resident has a degree in creative advertising and was recently named director of marketing and design at FrontLine Exhibits Plus.
The Henrico County company designs and produces exhibits with large graphics.
Todd now manages projects, designs exhibits and marketing material, looks for new clients and works on establishing and maintaining the FrontLine brand.
"The best part about my job is the versatility," said Todd, 28. "I wear many hats, therefore I'm never doing the same thing for too long. Having such a wide range of tasks keeps the job exciting and new."
Going into college, he wanted to be an art therapist, but that didn't happen.
"As fate intervened I found myself still drawn toward my artistic side, but in a different field as more practical opportunities presented themselves," Todd said.
He isn't content just to listen to music when he has downtime. For about six years Todd has been a bass player with the band Downbeat Switch which blends rock, funk, jazz, folk and other styles.
"I find no better way to relieve the stress of my daily life than to play music," Todd said.
