New restaurant in Fan to replace Easy Street Cafe

F.W. Sullivan’s Fan Bar & Grille is set to open Thursday Nov. 5 on Main Street in the Fan District.
It is taking the place of Easy Street Café, which closed Saturday Oct. 31 after a Halloween party.
“Easy Street had a great run. There are a lot of memories in the place for a lot of people,” said Jake Crocker, who will be general manager at the new restaurant. “We’ve got a unique concept that we’re putting in place, though, one that has a real personality.”
Easy Street opened in 1997. It closed for six months late last year and reopened in April. 
Crocker is part of FWS LLC, the ownership group that is running the new restaurant at 2401 W. Main St. He will be general manager.
The restaurant is named for F.W. “Sully” Sullivan IV, a world traveler who may or may not be a real person. 
“The idea is that even though Sully will be experiencing the world, patrons can share in those experiences,” said Cocker, also president and chief strategist for Richmond-based Crocker Strategic Marketing. 
Each week, the restaurant will base some entrees, desserts, beer and wine specials on where Sullivan happens to be visiting. Customer will be able to track his travels through an interactive map at the restaurant and through social-media channels including Twitter and Facebook.
Sean Murphy, who was with Metro Grill until about two months ago, will be executive chef and oversee catering.
The menu is described as “a gourmet twist on traditional pub fare.”
Murphy said the kitchen will use local produce as much as possible and will work to develop partnerships with Virginia farms.
