Public meetings set on state transportation plan

State officials will hold four public meetings around the state in June and July to gather comments on updating Virginia’s long-range multimodal transportation plan.

The state wants to link current transportation systems, reduce congestion, improve safety and mobility, and provide more travel options for residents. The long-range plan is updated every five years.

Virginia’s Office of Intermodal Planning and Investment will hold the following meetings:

Northern Virginia, June 22, 6 to 9 p.m. at Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School, 7130 Leesburg Pike in Falls Church.

Richmond, June 24, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Maggie Walker High School, 1000 N. Lombardy St.

Hampton Roads, June 25, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., Hampton Roads Planning District Commission, 723 Woodlake Drive in Chesapeake.

Roanoke,: July 9, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., Hidden Valley High School, 5000 Titan Trail.
