Cutting-edge sparkle

It’s not unusual to find a jewelry show featuring the work of a famous designer. With its inaugural Designer Showcase, Capri Jewelers, one of the largest diamond sellers on the East Coast, will do six times better than that.

The showcase, to be held Nov. 10 and Nov. 11 at the Capri Jewelers store in Short Pump Crossing Center, will feature new lines and the latest collections from six of the jewelry design world’s luminaries, including:
• Sophisticated, modern designs by Alberto Parada;
• Bold jewelry crafted of precious pastels, sterling and gold by Charles Krypell;
• Timeless, exquisite jewelry of fancy colored and white diamonds by Gregg Ruth;
• Innovative diamond jewelry and design by Henri Daussi;
• Premier fashion watches by Michele;
• And prestigious fine gold jewelry by Roberto Coin.

“This one-time event features a large selection of the latest and best work from the world’s most modern, creative and hot jewelry designers,” said Chris DeCapri, founder and CEO of Capri Jewelers. “It’s really unusual to see this many designers and this range of designs in one place at one time.”
Charles Krypell will make a personal appearance at the event. Trained as a sculptor 30 years ago, he has since become world-famous for designing jewelry with a striking dimensional quality.

“I want my clients to see the piece at every single angle,” Krypell said.

Representatives from the other five designers’ firms will be on hand at the showcase to answer questions as well.

“And they can create custom-designed pieces,” DeCapri said.

The showcase will feature thousands of pieces of jewelry, and it’s the breadth of the collections that will make the showcase special, DeCapri added. “You’ll be able to find a cutting-edge bracelet for $300 that will look good with everything you already have, as well as top-of-the-line diamond rings. From inexpensive sterling and gold to over-the-top fancy-color diamonds, we’ll have just about everything.”
