Stephen King’s new e-book to cost $35

NEW YORK -- The latest e-book from Stephen King is no bargain.
Scribner announced yesterday that the digital edition of King's "Under the Dome," a 1,000-plus page novel, will have a list price of $35, several dollars higher than what e-books usually cost. Amazon.com and other online retailers have been offering best-selling e-editions for $9.99, a price publishers worry is unrealistically low.
The hardcover for "Under the Dome," coming out next month, can be pre-ordered for $9 or less, thanks to an online price war among Target.com, Amazon and Walmart.com.
