Tonight, defending Super Bowl champs the Pittsburgh Steelers will take on the Tennessee Titans for the kickoff of football season -- and some sports-themed deals.

  • T.G.I. Friday's will host the "Largest Kickoff Party in the U.S.A." and offer bar guests six free buffalo wings at football-watching parties tonight, Sunday and Monday.
  • Most locations will also feature appetizer specials in the bar throughout the season.
  • The Pour House (3438 Pump Road) will hold a weekly Monday Night Football party hosted by Wes McElroy (of Sports Radio 910).
  • Football trivia and half-time putting contests will be part of the festivities, along with $1.99 tacos.

    Strawberry Street Café (421 N. Strawberry St.) is offering students and faculty members a 20 percent discount on food Tuesday nights. A valid I.D. is required.

    Also, the restaurant has added a "dinner for two" special on Wednesday nights, which includes a shared appetizer and two entrées (priced $13.95 or less) for $26.95. Beverage and dessert specials also will be available.
