If you haven't made a reservation for Father's Day yet, you might be out of luck at some places. Mom isn't the only one who deserves a meal out on her special day, you know.

Some options:

  • Write a short toast to your dad at http://www.carrabbas.com, and Carrabba's, the Italian chain restaurant (11450 Midlothian Turnpike), will give you a coupon for a free appetizer. Entrants will also compete to win a case of Coppola wine and a trip to Napa Valley with their father.
  • Skilligalee Seafood Restaurant (5416 Glenside Drive) will be open from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday. It will offer several specials, including Virginia soft-shell crabs. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling (804) 672-6200.
  • In addition to hosting a Father's Day brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Fleming's Prime Steakhouse (9200 Stony Point Parkway) will give dads a $25 dining card for future use at the restaurant. The cost is $29.95 per person. Info: (804) 272-7755.
  • Creative types may also head to http://www.ihop.com/i-heart-dad to submit a story of 250 or fewer words explaining why their dad deserves a special meal at IHOP. Five winners will receive a $100 IHOP gift card.
  • Submissions will be accepted through Sunday.
