CHARLOTTESVILLE -- Actors Matthew Broderick and Annette Bening will join directors Norman Jewison and Alan Ball, as well as cult filmmaker John Waters at this year's Virginia Film Festival.

The festival will feature about 80 films centered around a "Funny Business" theme and will be held Nov. 5-8 at various Charlottesville sites. Several new films will be previewed and other movies that the participants have appeared in or have directed also will be screened.

The opening-night presentation will feature "Marching Band," a documentary by French filmmaker Claude Miller. It looks at the 2008 presidential election through the eyes of the marching bands of the University of Virginia and Virginia State University.
