CHARLOTTESVILLE — Annette Bening is bowing out of the Virginia Film Festival.

The Charlottesville festival said Monday the actress has canceled her scheduled appearance at the November event, citing a scheduling conflict.

Still scheduled to attend the festival is actor Matthew Broderick, directors Norman Jewison and Alan Ball and cult filmmaker John Waters.

The festival will feature about 80 films centered on a “Funny Business” theme. It is scheduled Nov. 5-8 at various Charlottesville sites.
