Music notes: McBride and Adkins coming to Richmond next year
The 40-date Shine All Night Tour starring Martina McBride and Trace Adkinskicks off next month and a date is etched in for March 12 at the Richmond Coliseum. Keep some holiday cash aside -- tickets go on sale Jan. 29. . . . To pump his new album, "Southern Voice," out Oct. 20, Tim McGraw will make two appearances on "Late Night With David Letterman" Monday and Friday -- and the two performances will be followed by mini concerts, called "Live on Letterman," which will be broadcast on CBS' Web site (http://www.cbs.com) . . . . Fittingly, Alice Cooper has a new single available on iTunes called "Keepin' Halloween Alive." The song also can be purchased as a Digital 45 on the site with a vocal-free version and digital booklet. Fans also can enter the Cooper-oke Video Contest at http://www.nightswithalicecooper.com, where they can upload videos of themselves singing their version of the song. . . . MTV has received permission from Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein's family to air the documentary series "Gone Too Far" on Monday at 10 p.m. Goldstein filmed the series, which follows a group of young addicts in recovery, shortly before he died of an accidental overdose in August. . . . The charity special "Idol Gives Back" will return during "American Idol" in April, after taking a one-year hiatus. . . . If you've noticed "The Pulse" on Sirius XM sounding a bit different, it's because the channel has tweaked its format from "The'90s and now" to playing modern adult contemporary hits "of the 2000s and today."
